Where to Stay Near The Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali

November 3rd, 2019

There's no shortage of accommodation in Ubud. In fact, a quick Google search will reveal literally hundreds of options, from budget hostels to unique Airbnbs and high-end luxury resorts.

It's overwhelming.

Travelers are absolutely spoiled with choice, which is why choosing a hotel in Ubud is actually quite difficult (especially if you're an over-thinker, like me).

When I was planning my first trip to Bali, I knew I wanted to stay near Ubud's famous yoga sanctuary, The Yoga Barn. After hours (errr, days) of research, I finally settled on the hotels below and wow, they did not disappoint. All of them were absolutely wonderful and I would book a second stay without hesitation.

Here's what these hotels have in common:

  • Less than 10 minute walk to The Yoga Barn
  • Excellent breakfast included
  • Modern rooms
  • Nice pools

The Best Hotels Near The Yoga Barn

Byasa Ubud

8-minute walk to The Yoga Barn

Best for: Jungle views and kind staff

Byasa was the first hotel I ever stayed at in Bali. Upon arriving, I was instantly blown away by the hotel's lush "backyard" which can be seen from the balcony of every room. The staff was friendly and attentive and always took the time to greet me by name. They even gave me a small cell phone to contact them just in case I ever got lost in Ubud.

The breakfast was the best hotel-cooked breakfast that I experienced during my two month stay in Bali. It's standard for hotels to offer the choice of an egg dish OR pancakes but at Byasa, you get both. It's delicious.

Regarding the location, Google Maps says the walk from Byasa to The Yoga Barn takes 13-15 minutes, but there is actually a shortcut through a soccer field that cuts the time in half. When you check in to Byasa, the lovely owners will give you a map and explain the shortcut to you.

Artotel Haniman Ubud

8-minute walk to The Yoga Barn

Best for: Generous amenities and unique breakfast

Artotel Haniman is a stylish hotel with plenty of perks. The rooms are modern and the toiletries are well stocked (including body lotion, which is surprisingly uncommon in Bali). The hotel doesn't have it's own kitchen, so they've partnered with the restaurant next door for breakfast. The breakfast is upscale, unique, and sets Artotel Haniman apart.

I must mention that the hotel definitely lacks the lush greenery that can be found at many other hotels in Ubud. Staying at Artotel feels more like you're in the city than the jungle. You'll hear traffic noise and dogs barking at night, so ask for a room away from the street if possible.

Plataran Ubud Hotel & Spa

5-minute walk to The Yoga Barn

Best for: Luxury pool and expansive breakfast buffet

I've saved the best for last, because Plataran Ubud is an absolute dream. It's much more than a hotel — it's a resort. The property is expansive and lush. The actual hotel, pool, and dining terrace are set way back from the main street, so I didn't hear any of the "hustle and bustle" of Ubud once I was on the grounds.

There's two swimming pools, a spa, a daily program of cultural activities, a free shuttle to Ubud Center, and a large breakfast buffet that has something for everyone. Rooms start at $100 per night, which is expensive for Bali but much less than similar hotels in the area. If you're looking for a luxurious hotel with a pool that's worthy of your IG feed without completely breaking the bank, this is it.

Other Hotels Near The Yoga Barn

While I haven't personally stayed at these hotels, I did walk past them and can vouch for their proximity to The Yoga Barn. They have great reviews on booking.com and might be worth considering.

  • Alaya Resort (4 minute walk to The Yoga Barn)
  • Green Field Hotel and Restaurant (8 minute walk to The Yoga Barn)

I hope you enjoyed my recommendations. Please let me know if you book a stay — I'd love to hear which hotel caught your eye.
