Wondering where to practice yoga in Siem Reap, Cambodia?
Siem Reap is famous for the ancient temples of Angkor Wat, but it’s actually a wonderful destination for wellness, too. Siem Reap has great yoga studios, hip vegan cafes, kombucha breweries, and so much more!
I had the chance to hang out at Yoga Space during my week in Cambodia, and I really felt like I was part of the Siem Reap yoga community. I didn’t want to leave! If you're traveling to Cambodia, don't miss this adorable little studio.
Yoga Space is a small and intimate community studio located in the center of Siem Reap. They offer yoga, movement, meditation, dance, workshops, and more.
Yoga Space is very accurately named — isn’t technically a yoga “studio” in the sense that it’s not enclosed by four walls. Rather, Yoga Space is literally the open-air space on the terrace outside of Sugar Spa, Siem Reap's best place to pamper.
However, when it comes to the caliber of their instructors, the quality of their classes, and the strong sense of community they foster, Yoga Space is very much a true yoga studio.
Yoga Space is located on the terrace of Sugar Spa inside the Kings Road - Made in Cambodia Market in the center of Siem Reap.
A drop-in class at Yoga Space costs $8 or you can purchase a package of five classes for $35. Monthly unlimited costs just $68. Yoga Space also hosts free community events, classes, and workshops.
The Yoga Space schedule changes weekly. Check their Facebook page for the most up-to-date schedule of classes, workshops, and events.
I went to vinyasa with Camilla and slow flow with Luz and both classes were amazing.
Camilla is an Italian beauty who radiates love and positivity. Her accent is somewhat thick, which adds to her charm. Camilla guided us through a well-sequenced, smooth vinyasa class that left me feeling calm and collected. Luz is one of the core instructors at Yoga Space. She leads classes on Saturday mornings with confidence and enthusiasm.
Yoga Space hosts free Community Hour events, which can be anything from educational talks to guided meditations.
I had the pleasure of attending their very first Community Hour, which was a Bhakti Kirtan jam session! Kirtan is a call-and-response style chant that's set to music. We put our analytical minds aside and came together in song, enjoying the soulful vibrations of ancient Sanskrit mantras. It was joyful and meditative!
On Sundays, Yoga Space hosts various workshops and master class events, like partner yoga or Thai yoga massage. Prices may vary, but from what I’ve seen the cost is around $10.
